It was only in my thirties that I started playing guitar a little bit. When I managed to transition between the five most basic chords on the guitar, I was so thrilled.
We were living in the Judean Desert back then. I remember walking out into the desert at midnight, completely naked with my guitar, and with immense enthusiasm, I prayed with gratitude and said, "Master of the Universe, Carlebach has wonderful melodies with just two chords, and I already know five!! Could You please give me a Nigun (A melody of devotion)?"
And then, suddenly, a new melody landed into my consciousness. This melody, which has been called "Chatzot" (Midnight) since that night, can be found on the first album we produced, "Mitohu Mamash" (Something Out of Chaos).
